Momentum Health

Momentum Health provides cover for approximately 298 000 lives and is one of the 5 largest open South African medical schemes. There are 23 options to choose from, with premiums for a single member ranging from R455 to R10 642. The Custom range is the most popular range. By selecting one of the Custom, Incentive or Extender options that makes use of a network of hospitals and / or chronic medicine providers, members are able to lower their contributions. The Health Platform Benefit offers a good maternity programme and preventative care benefits.

Momentum's HealthSaver lets you save for additional day-to-day medical expenses that are not covered by your medical aid option. Momentum pays up to R3000 per family per month in HealthReturns to members who go for an annual health assessment, comply with treatment protocols and are active.

Summit

Summit is a fully comprehensive option suitable for individuals requiring extensive medical cover. It offers unlimited hospital cover at a hospital of choice, with in-hospital specialist bills paid at 300%. Co-payments are applied to specialized radiology and / or scopes. Day to day costs are subject to defined limits.

Extender Range

The Extender range provides all round general cover and is suitable for young families and individuals. It offers unlimited hospital cover, with in-hospital specialist bills paid at 200%. Co-payments are applied to a comprehensive list of in-hospital procedures and a short list of exclusions apply to minor in-hospital procedures. Day to day claims are paid from savings, a self payment gap and then from additional benefits. Unlimited cover for GP & specialist consults, pathology, radiology, basic dental check-ups and MRI/CT scans.

Incentive Range

The Incentive range provides all round general cover and is suitable for young families and individuals. It offers unlimited hospital cover, with in-hospital specialist bills paid at 200%. Co-payments are applied to a comprehensive list of in-hospital procedures and a short list of exclusions apply to minor in-hospital procedures. Day to day claims are paid from savings.

Custom Range

The Custom options are hospital plans that are ideal for young and healthy individuals. It offers unlimited hospital cover, with in-hospital specialist bills paid at 100%. Co-payments are applied to a comprehensive list of in-hospital procedures and a short list of exclusions apply to minor in-hospital procedures. A standard co-payment applies to all admissions except for motor vehicle accidents, maternity confinements and emergency treatment. Apart from some preventative care and maternity benefits, no other cover for day to day claims is provided.

Evolve

Evolve is a hospital plan which is ideal for young, healthy individuals. It offers unlimited hospital cover at a network of hospitals with in-hospital specialist bills paid at 100%. Co-payments are applied to a comprehensive list of in-hospital procedures, no benefit is offered for in-hospital dentistry and a short list of exclusions apply to minor in-hospital procedures. A standard co-payment applies to all admissions except for motor vehicle accidents, maternity confinements and emergency treatment. State providers must be used for prescribing and dispensing chronic medicines. Some maternity and preventative care benefits are covered.

Ingwe Range

Ingwe options are entry level capitated network plans which are affordable and ideal for low earning individuals. A comprehensive list of in-hospital exclusions applies. All treatments are subject to network providers and network protocols.

Momentum's Multiply is a wellness and rewards programme that rewards members for actively taking care of themselves. Benefits offered include discounted gym membership, travel & movie tickets as well as discounts and cash-back from certain retailers.

Momentum Medical Scheme members can choose to make use of additional products available from Momentum, part of Momentum Metropolitan Life Limited, to seamlessly enhance their medical aid. Momentum is not a medical scheme, and is a separate entity to Momentum Medical Scheme.
